The FKF National Super League got back underway today, September 6, 2017, with six matches ending in identical 1-1 score lines. Isibania FC was the only side that managed a win, edging out Administration Police 3-1
Isibania shrugged off a five match winless streak in style, dispatching Administration Police 3-1 at the Awendo Green Stadium. The hosts had lost three consecutive matches against Bidco United, Ushuru and Vihiga United. A brace by Antonio Abwao coupled with a goal by Ismail Abdalla was enough to get them back to winning ways
Draws Galore
A peculiar statistic was recorded today, with six matches ending in 1-1 draws. Nakuru All Stars forced a 1-1 draw with FC Talanta in an early kick off played at the Afraha Stadium. Thomas Wainaina had given Talanta the lead before a Peter Thiong’o header ensured a share of the spoils with a header in stoppage time
League Leaders Vihiga United failed to win for the second time in a row when they held Modern Coast Rangers to a 1-1 draw. Vihiga, however, is still top of the table with 51 points from 23 games, four points above second placed Ushuru, who have a game in hand
Ushuru also played out a 1-1 draw with third placed Nairobi Stima at the Karuturi Grounds in Naivasha. Benson Amianda gave Ushuru the lead in the 61st minute but it did not last long, Patrick Ndwiga restoring parity four minutes later. Both teams are tied on 47 points. Ushuru, however, have a superior goal difference and a game in hand
Bamba Sports
One match was aired live on free to air channel Bamba Sports. The match pitted Kibera Black Stars against promotion candidates KCB. Kibera Black Stars went ahead in the 78th minute courtesy of a goal by Tony Baraza, but second half substitute Simon Abuko restored parity three minutes later from the spot. The draw was enough for KCB to maintain fourth place, three points above Wazito FC at fifth. The latter has two games in hand
St Joseph Youth was also held to a 1-1 draw by Bidco United, with the match between Agro Chemicals and Nairobi City Stars at the Chemelil Sports Complex also ending in a similar scoreline
