JYSA FC from Juja will on Sunday, January 19,2020, face Ulinzi Youth from Nanyuki, during the Central Regional Finals of The Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom National Youth Tournament at Nanyuki Stadium.

JYSA came from a goal down to beat Irigiro FC from Maragua 2-1 in a hotly contested match. Ouma Pio from Irigiro FC opened the score sheet with a goal for Irigiro in the 13th minute but Dickson Elegae netted an equalizer for JYSA shortly after,at the 21st minute. A determined JYSA put up a spirited fight and their efforts bore fruit in the 84th minute,when Roy Kimoi scored the winning goal.

Ulinzi Youth from Nanyuki secured their spot in the finals after beating Kiamatugu boys from Kirinyaga,1-0,via a Brian Kafero goal at the 17th minute.

“Today’s game was tough as everybody played to win. It was a tight match and luck was on our side because we managed to score an early goal and emerge as winners. We will give our best in the finals to ensure that we win the title because it is what we have been training for,” said Ulinzi Stars player,Brian Kafero.

Laikipia based team,Falling Waters, battered Karima Queens from Nyeri,12-0, with Jane Njeri scoring four goals to become the tournament’s top scorer. Ruiru’s Achievers Queens  bowed out to Limuru Starlets after being thrashed 5-1.

Falling Waters, the region’s defending champions, will meet Limuru Starlets on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at the Nanyuki Stadium.

“Today’s win goes to show that the hard work we put in was worth the effort. We look forward to a good game tomorrow and hopefully we will regain our lost title,” said Limuru Starlets Coach,James Kairu.

The winning teams in the finals will walk away with a cash prize of KES 200,000 each and an opportunity to represent the Central Region at the national finals. The runners-up will receive KES 100,000 each with a host of individual prizes to be won.

North Eastern’s Berlin FC (Garissa), Coast region’s Yanga FC (Malindi) and Kwale Ladies have booked their spots at the national finals where KES 1,000,000 is up for grabs.

At the end of all the regional finals, an all-Star team comprising of 16 girls and 16 boys will be selected to attend a 10-day training camp in Spain where they will play friendlies against top Spanish La Liga football academies.
