Rift Valley Region winners Kapenguria Heroes are the champions of the 2017/2018 Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Youth tournament.

This is following a 3-0 win in post-match penalties over Gor Mahia Youth in the final played on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega. The match had ended 0-0 in regulation time.

Plateau Queens, meanwhile, won the Girls’ title at the expense of Rift Valley Champions Tartar Girls. The Nyanza Region champions also needed a 4-3 post-match penalties win after the match had ended 1-1 in regulation time.

The champions consequently take home a ksh 1 Million prize each, as well as a chance to spend a week with Kenyan and Tottenham Hotspurs Midfielder Victor Wanyama in the UK.

Individual Awards

Plateau Queens had a clean sweep of the individual awards at stake. Judith Osimbo won the Golden Glove, with Berryl Eshituku claiming the Most Valuable player gong. Forward Mercy Akinyi emerged the top scorer with five goals.

In the Boys’ category, Brian Lumumba and Ben Ogot scooped the Golden Glove and Top scorer’s prize respectively. David Majak was named the Most Valuable Player.
