The Kenya U15 National team sailed through to the quarterfinals of the consolation stage of the annual Mediterranean International Cup following a 3-0 win in post-match penalties over French side CE Flaca on Friday, April 19, 2019, at the Llagostera Grounds in Costa Brava, Spain. The match had ended 0-0 in normal time.

The win was preceded by a 6-1 thrashing of Spanish side CF Nevata in the round of 32 of the consolation stage early in the day, with matches being played for 25 minutes every half. Kevin Wangaya, Gil Harel and Brian Kamau each netted two goals apiece.

Kenya had earlier on picked up a 2-0 win over North American side Eastern FC in their final Group match of the MIC Football tournament played on Thursday to earn a place in the consolation stage. They had started off on a wrong footing though, losing to Spanish sides NT Terres and Junior CF in their opening matches of the tournament.

The Junior Stars will now wait to see who they will face in the quarterfinals when the draw is held on Saturday. The quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be played on Saturday while the finals have been slated for Sunday.
