    The National U20 Women team is scheduled to host Ethiopia in a Women U20 World Cup Qualifier on Saturday, September 29, 2017, at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos

    Kenya held Ethiopia to a 2-2 draw in the first leg match played at the Hawassa International Stadium in Ethiopia. Two goals in the last ten minutes by Corazon Aquino and Maureen Khakasa salvaged a draw and two crucial away goals, giving Kenya an upper hand ahead of the second leg

    The team’s Technical Lead, Musa Otieno, lauded the teams fighting spirit in the first leg and further expressed optimism Kenya will sail through

    “We were unlucky to have conceded two goals so early in the match but we are happy the girls showed great character to salvage a point and two crucial away goals,” said Musa Otieno

    “Our focus now is on the second leg, hopefully, we can get a positive result and progress to the second round,” added the U20 team’s Technical lead

    On Wednesday, September 27, 2017, the junior Starlets won 2-0 against the senior women team, Harambee Starlets, in a build-up friendly match at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. Gentrix Shikangwa and Cynthia Shilwatso scored a goal apiece in the match

    The aggregate winner will face the winner of another playoff pitting Algeria against Ghana
