Euronuts and Limuru Starlets are the winners of the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Central Region finals played on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the Thika Technical Training Institute.

Limuru Starlets put a massive six goals past Kirinyaga based Rwambiti in the first semifinal played earlier in the day. Millicent Njoki scored four goals, to add to a goal apiece by Winfred Mulami and Latonia Atieno, the match ending 6-0.

In the Boys’ category, a solitary goal by Emmanuel Loraine was all Euronuts needed to narrowly edge out Laikipia based Lufa FC.

The two are consequently set to represent the Central region in the upcoming National Finals, set to be played later this month at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.

Individual Awards

There were five joint top scorers, Lufa’s Eric Mwaura, Peterlis Odhiambo, Samuel Gichuhi and Ronald Kiloku, as well as Euronuts’ Emmanuel Loraine. Euronuts’ John Njuguna was named the Best Goalkeeper while his teammate David Wainaina took home the Most Valuable Player award.

In the girls’ category, Limuru Starlets forward Millicent Njoki won the top scorer’s prize, with her teammate Susan Njeri emerging the Best Goalkeeper. Good Girls’ Veronica Wairimu was named the Most Valuable Player.

Safaricom has invested Sh100 million towards the program which includes Sh10m worth of prizes as well as funds for the renovation of select community pitches through a legacy program.
