Makolanders edged out Mathare United Women 2-1 in one of nine FKF National Super League matches played over the weekend, consequently breaking the latter’s three-match unbeaten run.

A second-half strike by Judith Atieno for Mathare United Women came a little late after Amy Lasu and Florence Adhiambo had done the damage, in a match played on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Camp Toyoyo.

Thika Queens also made it four wins out of four matches with a narrow 0-1 win over Kayole Starlets at the same venue. Catherine Wangeci scored the lone goal for the deposed Champions.

Spedag

Meanwhile, at the Mombasa Sports Club, Spedag, for the first time this season, walked home with all three points after a 5-3 win over visiting Palos Ladies.

Harrit Fakir, Wendy Achieng, Sharon Bushienei, Elizabeth Mwikali and Cheris Avilia were on target for the hosts. A brace by Merab Awino, coupled with a second-half strike by Elizabeth Akinyi, were not enough to overturn the deficit.

Palos had earlier on Saturday, edged out Soccer Queens 1-2 at the Mbaraki Sports Club, their second win this season.

Defending Champions Vihiga Queens were 3-0 winners over Gaspo Youth, while their counterparts Vihiga Leeds lost 0-4 to Wadadia, in matches played on Sunday at the Mumias Sports Complex.

At the University of Eldoret grounds, newly promoted Trans Nzoia Falcons extended their unbeaten run with a 1-1 draw against home side Eldoret Falcons while in Baringo, hosts Baringo Starlets failed to turn up for the match, consequently handing Oserian Ladies easy pickings.
