Mara Sugar kicked off their 2022/23 FKF National Super League campaign with a 1-0 win against Naivas FC in their round 1 action, played on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Camp Toyoyo.

The first half saw both teams tied at a 0-0draw. However, three minutes after the breather, Mara Sugar’s Philemon Nyakwaka managed to skill past the Naivas FC defense to nick the lead for his team.

In the 72nd minute and 84th minute, Naivas’ Telvin Maina and Mara Sugar’s Robert Obaga were respectively booked for a reckless tackle.

The final whistle sealed the final score at 1-0.

On Sunday, Kibera Black Stars thrashed Silibwet 4-0  at the Camp Toyoyo grounds to secure their first three points of the season. Running concurrently with this game, was the match pitting Coastal Heroes against Mombasa Elite in which Coastal Heroes got the three points after Lucky Eme sent the ball to the back of the net in the 90th minute.
