Michael Olunga has checked into Harambee Stars’ camp in France as focus shifts to the team’s scheduled friendly match against Madagascar on Friday, June 7, 2019, in Paris.

Olunga jetted into France early Thursday morning and was part of Thursday evening’s training session as the team warms up for Friday’s pre-AFCON friendly.

“I am happy because at least I have my full squad in camp. This is good for me and my staff because now we can work tactically,” said coach Sébastien Migné while confirming Olunga’s arrival in France.

Migné also noted that he had no grave injury concerns and that he is looking to cultivate a winning mentality in the team ahead of Kenya’s first appearance in 15 years at the Africa Cup of Nations.

“Every player is ready to play. We have no injury concerns,”

“These international matches are important for me to try to develop winning mentality,” added coach Migné.

He in the meantime clarified that Olunga is not ready to start Friday’s match, but could come in in the second half.

“It is risky playing Olunga in the first eleven as he traveled overnight from Japan. But he could come in as a substitute,” said coach Migné

The match is set to be played on Friday, June 7, 2019, at the Stade Robert-Robin, starting at 9 pm EAT.

Kenya will also play the Democratic Republic of Congo in yet another friendly slated for June 15, 2019, in Madrid, before they jet into Egypt on June 19, 2019, for the continental showpiece.
