Mukumu Boys and Bishop Njenga Girls are the Western Region Chapa Dimba na Safaricom youth tournament champions.

Bishop Njenga narrowly edged out Shinyalu Girls 1-0 in the first final before Mukumu Boys trounced Lugari Blue Saints 2-0 in the Boys final, played on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the Kanduyi Stadium in Bungoma.

The duo consequently gets a chance to represent the region in the national finals set to be played later this year in Kakamega.

Awards

Champions Mukumu Boys’ Brian Chala and Maxwell Mulili grabbed the Golden Boot and Golden Glove respectively, while Lugari Blue Saints’ Noel Kipleting walked away with the Golden Ball (MVP).

Safaricom has invested Sh100 million in the program; 10 M worth of prizes, as well as the renovation of select community pitches through a legacy programme.
