Football Kenya Federation Nairobi Branch has launched the 2017/2018 U13 and U15 League today, September 9, 2017, at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds

The launch was graced by FKF Nairobi East Branch Chairman Michael Ouma, who expressed the Federations intentions in developing youth football from the grassroots

“The Federation started the U13 and U15 leagues last year in all our 20 branches and then had the U13 Youth Championships from which the U13 National team was selected. The team took part in the Southampton Cup, winning the Shield Trophy,” said Nairobi East Branch Chairman Michael Ouma

“Our focus is purely Youth Development. We have to get it right from the grassroots. FKF is also trying to get our youth teams into youth tournaments in Africa and beyond,” he added

The launch saw eight U13 teams from Makadara, Kamukunji, Embakasi and Kasarani sub-branches play exhibition matches. Acakoro Academy edged out Kariobangi Sharks Youth 2-0 while Fenerbahce got a 5-0 thumping at the hands of Kinyago. Makadara Youth also emerged 2-1 victors over Young Rovers
