NSL Preview: Nakuru derby to take center stage as Vihiga welcomes Palos

St Joseph Youth will host Nakuru All Stars in a much anticipated Nakuru derby while Palos will be on the road to take on Vihiga United at the Mumias Sports Complex in match week 15 of the FKF National Super League. Seven more matches have been lined up for today, 26 May and Saturday 27 May 2017

Bamba Sports

Three matches will be played today, Friday 26 May, including a doubleheader at Camp Toyoyo. Wazito will be hosting GFE 105 in the first match set for 2 pm. Later on, at 4.15 pm, Administration Police will take on KCB at the same venue. The two matches will be aired on free to air channel Bamba Sports. The third match of the day will pit Modern Coast Rangers against Agro Chemicals at the Mbaraki Sports Club

Wazito slipped to fourth, having not played in the last game week, and will be looking to exert pressure on league leaders Vihiga United. The former edged out Modern Coast Rangers 0-2 in their last match. GFE 105, on the other hand, is eighth on the log after the 2-2 draw with Modern Coast Rangers at the Kipchoge Keino Stadium last time out

Administration Police

Administration Police, meanwhile, will hope to turn around a run of poor results when they take on a formidable KCB side. AP has lost four games in a row, the most recent being a 2-0 loss to Kenya Police at the Afraha Stadium. KCB, on the other hand, will hope to get back to winning ways after a 0-0 stalemate against Ushuru

Meanwhile, Modern Coast Rangers ranked 12th with 16 points from 13 matches, will be looking to take maximum points from a struggling Agro Chemicals side when the two teams take to the field today. Agro has won only once this season, a 1-2 triumph over Bidco United in early April

Vihiga vs Palos

Six more matches have been lined up tomorrow, 27 May, with the highlight being a clash pitting Palos against Vihiga United at the Mumias Sports Complex. League leaders Vihiga carry an 11-game unbeaten run, having last lost on 2 April to GFE 105. Palos, on the other hand, will be riding on the back of a 3-1 win over MOSCA

Second Placed Nairobi Stima will be up against Kibera Black Stars at the Cray Fish Grounds in Naivasha. Nairobi Stima is on an 11-game unbeaten run, having last lost on 26 March to Ushuru. This incredible run has seen the power men rise to second on the log with 29 points from 14 games. Black Stars, meanwhile, is 15th with 12 points from 13 matches

At the Awendo Green Stadium, a resurgent Isibania will host Kenya Police. The home team is ranked eighth on the log, an impressive performance for a debutant. Isibania edged out Kibera Black Stars 0-1 in their last match, played at Camp Toyoyo. Police, on the other hand, come on the back of a 2-0 derby win over Administration Police

Nakuru derby

One match to look out for will be the Nakuru derby featuring St Joseph Youth up against Nakuru All Stars. St Joseph is winless in 10 games, a statistic that sees them ranked lowly at 17th with only six points from 12 matches. The away side, however, is sixth, with 22 points from 14 matches. The match is set for the Afraha Stadium on Saturday 27 May

Struggling Bidco United will also be in action, against Nairobi City Stars at the Thika sub-county Stadium. The home side is winless in ten games and at a lowly 18th place on the log with a paltry six points from 14 matches. Nairobi City Stars, meanwhile, has had a lukewarm season, a mid-table ranking with 18 points from 13 games

At Camp Toyoyo, third placed Ushuru will be looking to catch up with the league leaders when they face FC Talanta. Ushuru has amassed 28 points, three less than league leaders Vihiga United, but with a game in hand. Ushuru is on an eight-match unbeaten run. FC Talanta is ranked 13th with 16 points from 13 games
