Chapa Dimba: Ngakaa Talent Centre thumps Sakuu Queens to book National slot

Ngakaa Talent Centre from Makueni thrashed Sakuu Queens from Marsabit 6-1 in a Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom Tournament Eastern Region Girls final match played at the Moi Stadium in Embu on Sunday 26th November.

Purity Karembo opened the floodgates in the 7th minute and Meali Bakari doubled the lead in the 19th minute. Karembo grabbed her brace in the 36th minute to make matters 3-0 heading into the breather.

Ngakaa continued with the dominance after the breather with Mukei Mutuku making it 4-0 in the 48th minute. Faith Machora scored the fifth seven minutes later and Meali scored her second of the day in the 70th minute to make it 6-0. Sakuu Queens got the consolation goal in the 76th minute through Kabale Hakhale.

Sakuu Queens had edged out Karugwa Queens 4-2 while Ngakaa humbled Sildan Soccer Academy 9-0 in the semifinal matches played at the same venue on Saturday 25th November.

Individual Awards (Girls)

Top Scorer – Purity Karembo (Ngakaa) – 6 goals

Best Goalkeeper – Ruth Kaati (Ngakaa)

MVP (Best Player) – Faith Machora (Ngakaa)

Ngakaa bagged Ksh 200,000 and will represent Eastern Region in the National finals in Nairobi early next year while Sakuu Queens heads back home with Ksh 100,000. The MVP, best keeper, and top scorer were awarded Ksh 30,000 each.

About Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom

At the grand finale, the winning teams will walk away with Sh 1 million each and an opportunity to go for an international training and mentorship camp in London with Kenyan International Victor Wanyama in April 2018. Safaricom has invested Sh100 million towards the program which includes Sh10m worth of prizes as well as funds for the renovation of select community pitches through a legacy programme.
