Kangemi All-Stars kicked off their FKF National Super League campaign on a sour note, losing 1-2 to Bidco United in a match played on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at the Hope Center.

Ushuru, meanwhile, got underway their quest for top-flight football with a win, and so did Isibania and Kibera Black Stars. Police and Kisumu All-Stars were, however, held to identical barren draws by FC Talanta and St Joseph Youth respectively.

A first-half goal by Martin Lemaiyan had got Kangemi All-Stars to a promising start. The new boys would, however, be pegged back by two goals by Bidco United’s Augustine Etemesi and Jacob Onyango.

Despite scoring first, Kangemi All-Stars were pushed to the edge by Bidco United, eventually falling 2-1 to the guests

Despite the loss, Kangemi coach Michael Nam was optimistic that the team will master a swift comeback in their next match.

“We were playing a more experienced side, but I am happy that despite losing, my boys gave a good account of themselves,” said Nam.

Competitive

“The NSL is very competitive as compared to the Division One League. But I am confident that my boys will catch up,” opined the coach.

In the second match played at the same venue, Kibera Black Stars squeezed a 1-0 win out of a hard fighting GFE 105. The lone goal was scored by Henry Onyango in the first half from the spot.

Ushuru

2017 second runners up Ushuru FC was also on the winning end, edging out Administration Police 2-0 at the Camp Toyoyo grounds. Benson Amianda and Ekaliani Ndolo were on the scoresheet for the taxmen.

Meanwhile in Awendo, Isibania scored the highest tally of goals this season in a 3-1 win over Nakuru All Stars. A brace by Patrick Mvita and a goal by Abdalla Ismael were enough to render Jerome Baraka’s early opener for the guests a mere consolation.
