The Kenya National football team, Harambee Stars, will be in action tomorrow, June 10, 2017, against Sierra Leone in the first match of the 2019 AFCON Qualifiers. The match will be staged at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown, Sierra Leone, at 7.30 pm local time

The meeting will be the first between the two sides, with the away team, Harambee Stars, boasting a higher FIFA ranking; position 74 against the home side’s 113

Harambee Stars is unbeaten in 11 games, having won five and shared spoils in six of the last 11 matches. Sierra Leone, on the other hand, has won two, drawn one and lost two of her last five matches


Coach Stanley Okumbi could match Kenya’s longest streak of unbeaten games that stands at 12 if Harambee Stars avoid defeat

Kenya has been pooled against Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Ethiopia in Pool F, with matches set to be played in a two-legged format. Tomorrow’s match will, therefore, be the first of six, with the remaining five scheduled for March, September, October and November 2018

A total of 12 group winners and the best three runners-up will join tournament hosts Cameroon for the AFCON finals in 2019
