Harambee Starlets got their AWCON campaign underway on a high with a 1-0 win over Uganda in a match played on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Starlets started the match on an attacking note, limiting guests Uganda to only a handful of chances on the ball, but could not find a way past a determined Uganda defense.

Upon resumption, however, Lilian Adera would score the lone goal of the match in the 53rd minute, one the starlets held onto for a crucial first-leg advantage.

Kenya will look to leverage the one goal advantage when they face Uganda in the return match set to be played on Sunday, April 8, 2018, in Uganda.

The aggregate winner of the match is set to face Equatorial Guinea in the second and final qualifying round.
