The Women national football team, Harambee Starlets, have departed for Morocco today, Thursday, October 13, 2016, at 9:50 am for a series of friendly matches in preparation for the upcoming Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) scheduled for November in Cameroon.

The Starlets will take on Morocco on Saturday 16th October before playing Cameroon a week later, on Saturday 22nd October. The third of the friendly matches will be against Egypt on Friday 28th October.

The team is expected to jet back into the country on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 0830hrs.

Starlet’s head coach David Ouma has retained most of the players who represented Kenya in the inaugural CECAFA women championships, with new additions, Janet Bundi, Esther Nyandika, Pauline Nise and Bertha Omita, expected to add more depth to the squad.
