The final round of Group Stage matches at the Africa U17 Cup of Nations CECAFA Region Qualifying Tournament will see Kenya face Ethiopia on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania starting 3 pm.

Meanwhile, at the Azam Sports Complex, Uganda will be up against Djibouti in the alternate fixture set to kick off at the same time.

Kenya suffered a 3-1 setback in her last match against Uganda, coming on the back of successive wins over Djibouti and South Sudan. Both sides are consequently, tied at six points apiece with Kenya thus needing a win over Ethiopia in the final match to seal a place in the semifinals, slated for Friday, August 24, 2018.

Coach Michael Amenga will miss the services of defender Tony Castro Odhiambo who has been ruled out having suffered a hairline fracture in Kenya’s last match.

Kenya will seek to make a maiden appearance at the Africa U17 Cup of Nations slated for May 2019 in Tanzania. The winner of this tournament will thus gain qualification to next year’s junior continental showpiece next year alongside Tanzania, who qualify automatically by virtue of being the hosts.
