Kenya went down 3-1 to Uganda in her third match of the Africa U17 Cup of Nations CECAFA Region Qualifying Tournament played on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at the Azam Sports Complex in Chamazi, Tanzania.

The Junior Stars were coming on the back of successive wins over South Sudan and Djibouti, but would fall behind to a goal by Najib Yiga at the stroke of halftime. Ezekiel Mogendi restored parity in the 74th minute, but it didn’t last as Ibrahim Juma put Uganda back in front in the 79th minute. They would further cement their lead when Ivan Asaba scored the third in the 83rd minute.

Kenya consequently drops to second with six points from three matches, similar to Uganda, who however, have an inferior goal difference.
