Vihiga United shot back to the top of the FKF National Super League after a hard fought 3-2 win over Ushuru. Wazito, however, suffered a setback after going down 1-0 to Kenya Police. Both matches were played today, July 26, 2017, at the Camp Toyoyo grounds

Vihiga United raced into a 2-0 lead, courtesy of mid season acquisitions Charles Okwemba and Keiphas Baraza. Ushuru, however, equalized through Andrew Murunga and Lwamba Bebeto, but it is Vihiga who had the last laugh, getting the winner via a strike from Christopher Masinza

The win takes Vihiga United to the top of the table with 41 points from 18 matches, two more than second placed Nairobi Stima. Ushuru, on the other hand, is fourth with 37 points

Earlier on at the same venue, Wazito suffered a setback in their promotion push, going down 1-0 to Kenya Police. Douglas Wamalwa scored from the spot in stoppage time to hand Police their 7th win of the season. Wazito now drops to third place with 38 points, three less than league leaders Vihiga United

Kibera Black Stars

Meanwhile, at the Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret, Kibera Black Stars stunned hosts GFE 105 1-0. Henry Onyango scored Black Stars’ lone goal to condemn the hosts to their second loss in a row at their own backyard
