Two teams set to gain automatic qualification to next season’s Sportpesa Premier League will be determined on November 25, 2017, the final day of the 2017 FKF National Super league Campaign.
The highlight fixture will pit league leaders Ushuru against second-placed Vihiga United at the Mumias Sports Complex, while Wazito will be on the road to face Kenya Police at the Cray Fish Grounds in Naivasha.
Wazito, tied at 77 points with second-placed Vihiga United but with an inferior goal difference, is only a point behind Ushuru. A win against Police will guarantee them qualification at the expense of the loser of the other tie pitting Ushuru against Vihiga. In case of a draw in the Mumias tie, Wazito will be crowned champions with a win over Police.
Other fixtures will see KCB take on Modern Coast Rangers at Camp Toyoyo while Nairobi Stima will be away to Nairobi City Stars at the Ruaraka Grounds. KCB will be banking on a win over Modern Coast while hoping that Wazito loses by a big margin to at least secure a promotion playoff spot.
FC Talanta will host St Joseph Youth at the Thika sub-county Stadium while Palos, who withdrew from next year’s competition citing financial constraints, will host Isibania at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu
Three matches will be played in midweek. Modern Coast Rangers will host Nakuru All Stars at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Tuesday, November 21. On Wednesday, there will be a double-header at Camp Toyoyo. Kenya Police will face Isibania in the first match at 2 pm before Kibera Black Stars host MOSCA at 4.15 pm. Both matches will be aired live on free to air channel Bamba Sports
The top scorer’s prize will also be at stake, with Patrick Okullo, Simon Abuko and Benson Amianda being the favorites. Okullo leads the chart with 17 goals, one more than Abuko and Amianda. FC Talanta captain Eric Kapaito has found the back of the net 14 times while Wazito’s Pistone Mutamba has 13 goals to his name
