Deputy President William Ruto has pledged financial support to the Kenya National football team ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifier against Ethiopia on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani.

This as he committed to honoring an earlier pledge that the Government will award the team KES 50 Million if they qualify for AFCON.

“I want to commit that an official bus for Harambee Stars will be availed by next month,” said Deputy President William Ruto.

“If you deliver the crucial win to take us to AFCON, the Government will award Harambee Stars KES 50 Million,” he added.

Earlier on Thursday, Football Kenya Federation welcomed the government’s decision to waive gate charges for the match, which is set to kick off at 4 pm.

The team jetted back on Thursday from Ethiopia, going straight back to camp ahead of the match which could see Kenya earn a chance at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon
