NSL Review: Win on the road for Isibania as Vihiga stays top

    NSL debutants Isibania got one over fellow newbies Kibera Black Stars as Vihiga United retained top spot in match week 14 of the FKF National Super League played from Friday 19 to Monday 22 May 2017

    Talanta kicked off match week 14 action with a home tie against struggling Bidco United at Camp Toyoyo on Friday 19 May.  Dan Guyo atoned for his own goal setback in their match week 13 match against Vihiga United to put Talanta ahead in the 2nd minute. Bidco equalized with five minutes to play through Kennedy Githinji for a share of the spoils

    Police Derby

    Two matches were played on Saturday, the highlight being the Police derby between Kenya Police and Administration Police. Kenya Police edged out their counterparts 2-0 through goals by Douglas Wamalwa and Benjamin Megson. The match was played at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru. Earlier at the same venue, visiting Nairobi Stima held hosts Nakuru All Stars to a 0-0 stalemate in a match that kicked off at 10 am. The point earned sends Stima to second on the log with 29 points from 14 matches. Nakuru All Stars is placed sixth with 22 points

    On Sunday, four matches were played, with Isibania and Palos getting all three points. KCB was held to a 0-0 draw by Ushuru at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. The draw was Ushuru’s fourth of the season. The taxmen consequently dropped to third on the log with 28 points from 13 games. KCB, on the other hand, is fifth with 25 points from 13 games. Nairobi City Stars was also held to a barren draw by Vihiga United at the Camp Toyoyo grounds. The draw was enough to ensure Vihiga stays at the summit with 31 points from 14 games. City Stars, meanwhile, is ranked 10th with 18 points from 13 games

    Palos and Isibania got important wins over MOSCA and Kibera Black Stars respectively. MOSCA, still in search of their first win of the season, found it hard against Palos, losing 3-1 at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu. MOSCA went ahead through Kwesi Dadzie in the 7th minute. Palos responded through Michael Owino before Morven Otinya and John Wanda sealed the win

    Isibania

    At Camp Toyoyo, Isibania edged out fellow debutants Kibera Black Stars 0-1 through a goal by Lucas Weitere in the 70th minute. The win on the road is Isibania’s sixth this season. The Awendo based side is ranked 9th on the log with 20 points from 13 matches. Kibera Black Stars meanwhile, retains 15th place, with 12 points from 13 games

    One match was played yesterday, Monday 22 May at the Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret. Visiting Modern Coast Rangers held GFE 105 to a 2-2 draw. GFE 105 is now at 8th place with 20 points from 14 matches while Modern Coast is ranked 12th with 16 points from 13 matches

    Agro Chemicals

    The clash between Agro Chemicals and St Joseph Youth that was scheduled to kick off on Sunday 21 was postponed to a later date after the match venue was banned following incidences of hooliganism in a Kenya Premier League match played on Saturdays
