Debutants Nyuki Starlets rounded up action in Round One of the FKF Women Premier League with a resounding 1-3 come from behind win over hosts Spedag on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at the Stima Members Club.
This as fellow newbies Kibera Girls Soccer Academy went down 5-1 to Gaspo Youth at the Ruiru Grounds, courtesy of a hattrick by Elizabeth Wambui and a goal apiece by Winnie Kanyotu and Wincate Kaari. Siliya Lumasia scored Kibera’s consolation.

Spedag had Harriet Fakiri on the scoresheet in the 15th minute, but Nyuki Starlets’ Bracksides Itambo restored parity in the 30th minute to see both sides head to the breather tied at 1-1.
Cynthia Matekwa then put the guests on the front foot in the 81st minute before Dubai Amita secured all the three points with the third goal in stoppage time.
Nyuki Starlets are thus top of the table courtesy of the win, which is a follow up to a barren draw against Soccer Queens in their opening match of the campaign on Saturday.

Second on the 16-team log is Gaspo Youth with three points, similar to Trans Nzoia Falcons, Vihiga Queens, Thika Queens and Wadadia who all picked up maximum points on Saturday, but with a superior goal difference.
