Thika Queens mastered two wins over Trans Nzoia Falcons and Zetech Sparks in FKF Women Premier League matches played on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The 2016 WPL Champions beat Trans Nzoia Falcons 6-2 at the Thika Stadium. Captain Fauzia Omar (17th and 47th minutes) and influential forward Mwanahalima Adam (56th and 66th minutes) each scored a brace apiece to add onto goals by Lucy Ikhumba (33rd minute) and Salome Akoth (80th minute). Irene Khasanti (61st minute) and Martha Amunyolete’s (80th minute) goals for Trans Nzoia only turned out to be mere consolations.

Trans Nzoia Falcons would, however, atone for their Saturday loss with a 7-2 thumping of Makolanders on Sunday at Camp Toyoyo.

Tumaini Waliaula was the star of the day, netting a hat-trick in the 32nd, 70th, and 85th minutes, with Irene Khasanti (63rd minute) Millicent Ayuma (83rd minute), and Martha Amunyolete (84th and 86th minutes) also getting their names on the scoresheet.

Lonya Any (74th minute), and Adhiambo Shann (76th) netted the hosts’ consolation goals.

Vihiga Queens, in the meantime, beat Wadadia 5-0 to cap off a high scoring weekend.

Terry Engesha opened the scores in the 22nd minute, with Topister Situma netting Vihiga’s second a minute before half time. Cynthia Shilwatso netted two upon resumption, in the 47th and 79th minutes, with Topister grabbing her brace in stoppage time to seal the win.
