Football Kenya Federation has on Monday, September 2, 2019, rolled out a four-week CAF C License course at the M-Pesa Foundation Academy in Thika.

The course, which is one of six lined up this year, brought together coaches from the larger central region (FKF Aberdares and Mt. Kenya Branches) who had earlier on gained their Basic/Advanced Coaching accreditation.

“Since we came into office, we have trained over 2800 coaches at the Basic/Advanced (CAF D) level. Out of them, we are now training 480 coaches in the CAF C level,” said FKF President Nick Mwendwa.

“As a Federation, coaching education remains key in our football development agenda. It is for this reason that we have offered courses free of charge to not only ensure that our players are handled by qualified personnel but to also bridge a capacity gap that had in the past denied our coaches job opportunities both at home and abroad,” added the FKF President.

The course will be held over four weeks, with one week set aside for attachment at football clubs actively participating in the local leagues.

Eldoret and Nakuru will concurrently host two other cohorts of the CAF C License this month, with three more cohorts set to be trained next month.
