The Kenya National U15 team twice came from behind to edge out Abadares based Jasper Academy 3-2 in a friendly match played on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the Ruiru Grounds.

John Chuol netted first for Jasper, a goal that was canceled out by Kevin Wangaya, the first half ending 1-1.

Brian Ndung’u restored the hosts’ lead upon resumption but Gil Harel, who had come on for Zein Mwakitawa, once again leveled the scores.

The hosts, who were wilting as the match wore on, caved in to pressure from the Junior Stars, conceding an 85th-minute goal courtesy of a strike by Teddy Sirmah.

The friendly match is the team’s first of the year, with a couple more lined up, among them a maiden appearance at the annual MIC Football Tournament in Costa Brava, Spain, in April this year.

20 players in the team have been put on a homeschooling program at the FKF National Center of Excellence in Thome, Nairobi, which sees them hold daily training sessions at the Wadi Degla Club in Runda.
