Isiolo Starlets will on Sunday, February 9,2020, face Chuka University, in the Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom, Eastern regional finals at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

Nasibo Wario bagged a goal  in the 24th minute giving Isiolo Starlets the lead in the first girl’s semis against Mabuu Queens. Shortly after, team mate Nasibo Ibrahim bagged a brace at the 27th and 42nd minute, and another goal by Kula Dida in the 37th minute taht closed the first half at 4-0. Guyatu Halaike extended the lead in the second half at the 57th minute followed by a Nasibo Wario goal in the 61st Minute and Halima Tadicha scoring a brace in the 79th and 83rd minute to end the game at 8-0.

Chuka University came from a goal down to beat Season one champions Ngakaa Talents 2-1 in a pulsating semifinal match. Ngakaa’s, Samantha Adhiambo opened the scoresheet by netting a goal at the 36th Minute. Chuka University’s scorer Susan Wanjeri bagged a brace in the 49th minute and the 85th Minute to seal the win for the team.

“Endurance is a key component for any team aspiring to win. Looking at today’s win, we credit it to the hard work we put in practice. Going forward, we will rectify some of the mistakes we made in today’s game to ensure that we get nothing but a win,” Isiolo Starlets Coach, Hussein Wako.

In the first boy’s semifinals, Tumaini thrashed Biashara 7-1 in a one sided match. Yasin Mohamed scored the first goal for Tumaini School in the 10th minute with Kinama Moses netting a goal in the 45th minute at the stroke of half time. Kapirante Moris opened the second half with a goal in the 53rd minute as Yasin Mohamed added with a double in the 81st and 84th minute followed by a goal from Kapirante Moris in the 86th minute. Yasin Mohamed rounded up the scores to make it 7-1 with a goal in the 89th Minute. Abdirahman Mustapha scored Biashara’s consolation goal in the 60th Minute.

In what was a hotly contested match, St Daniel’s were edged out by Blank Panthers 7-6 in post-match penalties after a 3-3 draw during normal regulation time. Black Panthers will tomorrow face Tumaini School in what promises to be an entertaining boys finals

The winning teams in tomorrow’s finals will walk away with a cash prize of KES 200,000 each and an opportunity to represent the Eastern Region at the national finals. The runners-up will receive KES 100,000 each with a host of individual prizes to be won.

At the end of all the regional finals, an all-Star team comprising of 16 girls and 16 boys will be selected to attend a 10-day training camp in Spain where they will play friendlies against top Spanish La Liga football academies.
