The National U17 football team has commenced preparations for the upcoming CECAFA U17 Championships, scheduled to kick off on April 8, 2018, in Burundi.
The team is part of Football Kenya Federation’s Youth Development Agenda.
“Youth Development remains key in our long-term football development agenda,” said FKF Secretary General/CEO Robert Muthomi.
“We have a policy that will ensure our Junior National teams actively participate in the upcoming CAF and FIFA competitions,”

“This will provide an opportunity for our junior players to not only experience international matches but also learn vital aspects of the game that are key to their future football development,” explained the FKF Chief Executive Officer.
Rising Stars
The U17 team lost 3-0 to the National U20 team, the Rising Stars, in a friendly match played on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. The friendly was a culmination of a two-day selection exercise that saw close to 70 players audition for a place in the team.
