Harambee Starlets is set to face Equatorial Guinea in the second and final qualifying round of the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations.
The match has been slated for Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, with the second leg set to be played on June 9, 2018, at the Estadio Nkoantoma de Bata in Equatorial Guinea’s port city of Bata.
Coach David Ouma has expressed optimism that the Starlets will give a good account of themselves in Machakos.
“I’m happy with our preparations. The girls are ready and psyched up and I am confident that we can get a positive result,” said coach Ouma.
Captain Wendy Achieng, meanwhile, has issued a rallying call to fans to come out in large numbers to support the Starlets.
“Morale is high in the camp. I appeal to fans to supports us as this is our opportune moment to make a second appearance at the AWCON,” opined the Starlets fullback.
The match will see fans gain free access to the stadium, in an effort aimed at promoting the women’s game to the Kenyan populace.
