The Kenya National team, Harambee Stars, is set to jet out to Nairobi from Cairo on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at 10.45 pm EAT. The team is expected in Nairobi on Thursday at 3.30 am.
This comes after Kenya picked up a win and two losses in Group C, finishing third behind Algeria and Senegal.
Focus now shifts to the upcoming Africa Nations Championships Qualifiers where Stars take on Tanzania in the first round set to be played this month. The first leg will be played between July 26 and July 28, with the second leg slated for August 4, 2019, in Nairobi.
Sports Cabinet Secretary Amb. Amina Mohamed, meanwhile, treated the team to a luncheon in Egypt on Tuesday, flanked by Kenyan Ambassador to Egypt H.E Joff Otieno. The Sports CS expressed her congratulatory message to the team for putting up a strong fight despite not booking an automatic round of 16 slot.
