Harambee Stars kicked off their CECAFA Senior Championships title defense with a 1-0 win over Tanzania in a match played on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at the KCCA Grounds in Kampala, Uganda.
Abdallah Hassan struck the lone goal in the fourth minute, one the Kenyans resolutely held onto, to take home three vital points in their opening match.
Up next for the team is a match against Sudan on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, before they wind up group stage action against Zanzibar on Saturday.
The top two teams from the group will proceed to the semifinals, slated for Tuesday, December 17, 2019, after which the final and the third-place play-off will be played on Thursday, December 19, 2019.
