The National football team, Harambee Stars, will pocket a whooping Ksh 50 million if they qualify for the 2019 AFCON.

The pronouncement was made by Deputy President William Ruto on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, when he hosted the team for breakfast at his Karen residence.

In addition, the DP also handed the team, Ksh 5 million for clinching the 2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.

“The government of Kenya will give the team Ksh 50 million if they qualify for the 2019 AFCON,” said the Deputy President.

Ruto also promised to buy Harambee Stars a new team bus within the next two weeks and directed that the team be given a further 10 million by the Ministry of sports.

“Because of the good work that the team has done the President of the Republic of Kenya His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta has directed that the Ministry of Sports gives the team a further 10 million by Friday,” said DP William Ruto

“You will also get a new team bus within the next two weeks to enable the team for ease of movement,” he added
