The Kenya U20 National team has safely arrived in the country on Thursday, December 3, 2020, from Arusha, Tanzania, where they took part in the CECEAFA U20 Championships.

Rising Stars finished fourth in the regional showpiece, bidding the U20 Africa Cup of Nations goodbye after losing to Uganda 3-1 in the semis.

“As a team, we are disappointed in our performance, but have learned vital lessons that will help shape us up for our next competition,” said Coach Stanley Okumbi.

The team began on the right foot during the group stages of the competition where they beat Ethiopia 3-0 and  Sudan 2-1 pushing them to the semi-finals with six points.

They however also lost a chance to attain the third position in the regional showpiece after they lost 1-2 to Sudan.

Uganda and Tanzania earn an automatic slot to the 2021 U20 AFCON in Mauritania with Uganda trouncing Tanzania 4-1 in the finals of the tourney.
