The Ghanaian National Women football team jetted into the country on Sunday, November 4, 2018, ahead of their upcoming international friendly match against Kenya’s Harambee Starlets.
The two teams are set to face off on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani starting 4 pm, with the Black Queens coach Hayford Bashuri noting that the friendly will be a good build up to the upcoming Africa Women Cup of Nations.
“We opted to play Kenya because of our good working relationship and also because they will be taking part in the AWCON tournament like we will,” said coach Bashuri
“This friendly match will be good for us to not only gauge the standard of Women football in East Africa but to also get in good shape for the tournament,” he added.
Also lined up for the Harambee Starlets is a friendly match against Uganda before the team jets out to Ghana on November 14, 2018, in time for the continental showpiece.
