Kenya’s Emerging Stars produced an outstanding performance to brush aside Mauritius 5-0 in an Africa U23 Cup of Nations Qualifier played on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani.
Johnstone Omurwa, James Mazembe, Pistone Mutamba, Sydney Lokale and Joseph Okumu were on target for the Emerging Stars, who now carry a healthy lead ahead of the second leg set to be played on Sunday in Mauritius.
The winner on aggregate will face off with either of Sudan or Seychelles in the second round, with a third round also in line.
The third round winner will gain qualification to the final AFCON U23 tournament, which will act as a qualifier to the 2020 Olympics.
