Curtains have come down on a three-day selection exercise aimed at constituting the National U20 team set to take part in the upcoming CECAFA U20 Women Championships.

36 players, most of whom were scouted at the recently culminated Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Regional finals, were tried out, an exercise that coach Florence Adhiambo termed successful.

“We had a chance to gauge the players we scouted from Chapa Dimba. We now have a clear picture of who we will select to the final squad,” she said.

“These players will now join those who took part in the U20 World Cup Qualifiers in 2017. Once the dates (for the CECAFA U20 Women Championships) are set, we can hit the ground running,” added the former Kenyan International.

Kenya will be hosting the Junior regional showpiece in July 2019.
