The 2022/23 FKF Nairobi Elite Youth League will kick off on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Kasarani Annex.

The third edition of the league will feature U13, U15, and U17 players from top football academies.

FKF National Executive Committee Member and Chairman of the FKF Youth Committee Chris Amimo said the league will help spot talent from the grassroots.

“This league is part of the federation’s strategy to revive grassroots football countrywide. It will help us identify talents from an early stage.”

“A lot of young players do not have access to participation in organized leagues until they are adults. We shall roll out this league across the country, and it will form the basis for the selection of the Kenya U15 and U17 teams. ”

The first edition of the FKF Elite Youth League was held in 2017 and saw Kenya form the first U15 national team. Many players from that side are currently playing in the Premier League and NSL, and some have got contracts to play abroad.

“Unfortunately, this program was adversely affected first by Covid and secondly by the FIFA ban. We intend to rebuild it from where we left off. ” FKF NEC Member and Chairman FKF Youth Committee Chris Amimo.
