Gor Mahia strengthened their grip on the top position in the FKF Premier League after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over FC Talanta in a midweek encounter played at MISC Kasarani on Tuesday.

The match witnessed a see-saw battle as both teams tried to outdo each other in a bid to take the lead. However, it was Gor Mahia that managed to make their chances count, thanks to a brace from their star player, Benson Omalla.

Meanwhile, Tusker FC kept the pressure on Gor Mahia with a hard-fought 1-0 win over KCB at the Ruaraka grounds. The Brewers now sit two points behind Gor Mahia with 57 points, making the title race even more intriguing.

Elsewhere, Bidco United held AFC Leopards to a 1-1 draw at Thika Stadium, marking the latter’s second consecutive draw in the league.

Ulinzi Stars returned to their winning ways with a 3-1 home win against Vihiga Bullets at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.

In the early kick-off match played at the Kasarani Annex, Kakamega Homeboyz, and Nairobi City Stars played out a goalless draw.

With the league set to take a break this weekend for the Mozzart Bet Cup quarterfinals, an enthralling title chase is set to play out over the next seven remaining games.
