The FKF Women Premier League witnessed an exhilarating match today as Gaspo Women drew 1-1 with Ulinzi Starlets at Gems Cambridge.
As the season approaches its conclusion, this particular game became a crucial factor in shaping the title race. Throughout the season, Gaspo Women and Vihiga Queens have been fiercely competing for the top position.
The match was a tightly contested affair, with both teams earning a point. Gaspo Women took the lead in the 31st-minute courtesy of Lydia Waganda. However, in the 90th minute, a trip inside the box presented Ulinzi Starlets with an opportunity to equalize through a penalty, which was duly converted by Mary Ojenge.
In terms of the title race, Gaspo Women currently trail Vihiga Queens by a mere two points, as the latter emerged victorious in their match against Wadadia FC on matchday twenty. With only two games remaining in the season, the title race is expected to go down to the wire, culminating in a crucial clash between the two main contenders.
