The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) in partnership with FIFA  will launch the Women’s Football Campaign in the country on June 1st and 2nd, 2023 at Kasarani Annex.

The Women’s Football Campaign is a global program aimed at increasing female participation in football and fostering the development of women and girls in football from an early age to create a structured pathway that nurtures young players, providing them with the necessary support and guidance to excel in the sport and potentially pursue national team and professional opportunities in the future.

This is in line with the federation’s key priorities for both women’s and youth football.

The program will primarily focus on players and school team coaches from primary schools. Recognizing that students spend a significant amount of their time in school, special attention will be given to capacity building among school team coaches. This ensures that players receive proper football education from an early stage, enabling their growth into potential future professionals.

This event will bring together players and coaches from across Nairobi for a one-day tournament. The tournament aims to create a fun and engaging environment, providing players with the opportunity to participate in various small-sided games and other enjoyable activities. Moreover, they will have the chance to interact with football ambassadors and legends, who will serve as mentors and inspire them to pursue their football dreams.
