The Junior Starlets are currently undergoing residential training as they prepare for the CECAFA U18 Women’s Championship. Having spent a week in camp, the atmosphere is vibrant, and the players are brimming with excitement.
The training camp has proven to be invaluable for the players, providing them with an environment conducive to learning and honing their skills. They have the opportunity to glean knowledge not only from their coaches but also from one another. This knowledge will undoubtedly serve them well, not just during the tournament but also in their potential future professional careers.
Mollyne Akinyi, a student at Our Lady of Fatima Secondary School, expressed her enthusiasm for the camp, stating, “We have a tremendous opportunity to learn from both our peers and our coaches.”
This collaborative learning environment has instilled confidence within the players, driving them towards a resolute determination to secure victory in this home tournament.
Mollyne Akinyi further affirmed their commitment, saying, “Our primary goal is to win this tournament, and we are working tirelessly towards achieving that.”
The players are also appealing to Kenyans for their unwavering support during the tournament. Ivy Chepkirui, from Zetech Sparks, urged the fans, saying, “We encourage our fans to stand by us and rally behind us. With their support, we will strive to deliver good performances.”
