In a touching display of compassion and generosity, Moses Shummah, the star forward of Kakamega Homeboyz, decided to extend his Man of the Match rewards to the Benedictine Sisters Divine Providence Children’s Home in Kakamega over the weekend.
Shummah’s stellar performance on the field earned him the title of Man of the Match, and he saw this achievement as an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those in need. Joined by representatives from Mozzart Bet Kenya and his teammates, Shummah personally visited the Benedictine Sisters Divine Providence Children’s Home to present a donation of essential food supplies. The act of kindness left an indelible mark on both the children and the visitors, fostering a sense of satisfaction and happiness.
“I am delighted to be accompanied by representatives from Mozzart Bet Kenya and my colleagues from Kakamega Homeboyz come to donate food here at Benedictine Sisters Divine Providence Children’s home,” said Shumah. “It’s an experience of its kind and the first time I am doing something this huge and away from home. This will push me to work extra hard as I will want to win more and give back again to society. All I can say is that I feel satisfied and happy.”
Sister Adelaide Likhaya, representing the Benedictine Sisters, expressed heartfelt gratitude to both the Kakamega Homeboyz team and Mozzart Bet Kenya for their support. The generosity shown by Shummah and the entire team resonated deeply with the children and the organization, emphasizing the impact that athletes and corporations can have on society.
“On behalf of Kakamega Homeboyz, we want to say thank you first to Mozzart Bet for making this possible and to our forward Moses Shumah for choosing this place,” said Boniface Imbenzi, Kakamega Homeboyz team manager. “As a team, we are happy to be creating such impacts on the society that has been supporting us, and we will continue doing the same.”
Cyprian Aluda, the representative of Mozzart Bet, emphasized the importance of supporting organizations like the Benedictine Sisters Divine Providence Children’s Home. He commended Shummah for his selfless act and encouraged others to follow suit, highlighting the role of social responsibility in creating a more compassionate and caring society.
“It is an honor to be here today to represent Mozzart Bet,” Aluda said. “We are proud to visit Benedictine Sisters Divine Providence Children’s home and support such a great cause. At Mozzart Bet, we are committed to making a positive impact in our societies. This has always been our culture as an organization, and we will continue making a difference in our society and supporting such causes. We also encourage each one of us to be socially responsible.”
Sister Adelaide Likhaya shed light on the challenging circumstances faced by the children at the home, who have experienced neglect, abandonment, abuse, or rape. She stressed the significance of supporting and uplifting these young lives, affirming that it is the collective responsibility of society to care for the most vulnerable.
This heartwarming act of generosity and solidarity serves as a reminder of the power of individuals and organizations to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those less fortunate. Moses Shumah’s decision to share his Man of the Match rewards with the Benedictine Sisters Divine Providence Children’s Home exemplifies the spirit of compassion and unity that can uplift communities and inspire others to take similar actions.
