World governing body FIFA has appointed FIFA referee Mary Njoroge as the second assistant referee for the Women’s World Cup Group E match pitting Portugal against Vietnam.

Mary Njoroge will be officiating alongside Salima Mukansanga from Rwanda, who will serve as the Center Referee for the match. Additionally, Queency Victoire from Mauritius will be the First Assistant Referee, and Anahi Fernandez from Uruguay will act as the fourth official.

In February this year, she was part of the match officials chosen to officiate theĀ  FIFA Women’s World Cup playoff in New Zealand.

This is not the first time Mary Njoroge has officiated in the FIFA Women’s World Cup. She officiated in the 2019 edition, which took place from June 7 to July 7, 2019.

The match between Portugal and Vietnam is scheduled for Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the Waikato Stadium, Hamilton, starting at 10:30 am.
