FIFA Women’s Football Campaign (WFC), a FIFA Women’s development program, will be rolled out in Nakuru on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Football Kenya Federation (FKF) in partnership with FIFA launched this program in Nairobi on June 1, 2023.

The event will feature twenty primary schools from Nakuru that will get the chance to participate in small sided games. This in a bid to foster interest, fun, and camaraderie amongst the girls.

WFC is a global program that provides a unique platform to encourage participation in women’s football at a grassroots level, whilst promoting the game.

It focuses on creating a structured pathway that nurtures young players, providing them with the necessary support and guidance to excel in football and pursue national team and professional opportunities in the future.

FKF’s tailor made approach to the program was to ensure the gap in the talent development pathway for girls under the age of twelve was covered. This is in line with the federation’s key priorities – women’s and youth football.

Furthermore, FKF will prioritize school team coaches for capacity building to ensure that they are well equipped to impart the right football education to the children from their early football development years.

The Women’s Football Campaign program will be rolled out in all regions nationwide.

The Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology (RVIST) grounds in Nakuru will host the WFC event on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 10 a.m.
