Tusker and Kariobangi Sharks played to a 1-1 draw in their FKF Premier League Round 2 match at Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

The early exchanges were explosive, with both teams creating numerous goal-scoring chances. Tusker, however, had the more clear-cut opportunities.

Tusker’s Fabian Adikiny came close to opening the scoring in the 25th minute with a free header. Kariobangi Sharks’ goalkeeper, Bernard Jairo, made vital saves in the 32nd and 43rd minutes, and his counterpart Timothy Ekhavi had to make a goal-line clearance to keep the game goalless at half-time.

The second half witnessed a shift in momentum as Kariobangi Sharks took an early lead in the 56th minute through a Keith Imbali strike in a well-worked team goal. Tusker, however, didn’t cease their search for a goal, and their efforts finally paid off in the 82nd minute when Levin Opiyo’s cross into the area was deflected by the opponent, equalizing the scores.

Gor Mahia picked their first win of the season after beating Ulinzi Stars 1-0 at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.

New signings Kevin Simiyu Juma and Patrick Sibomana linked up in the 29th minute. Sibomana’s corner kick was met by Simiyu, giving K’ogalo the lead.

Meanwhile, Murang’a Seal continued their unbeaten run in the top tier by winning their second game of the season. Titus Kapchanga’s lone goal in the 89th minute made the difference, securing a 1-0 scoreline.

To conclude this matchday, Bidco United will face Nairobi City Stars on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Kasarani Annex.
