Newcomers Rainbow FC kicked off their 2023/24 FKF National Super League campaign by securing a 1-0 victory against Darajani Gogo on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Kasarani Annex.
Rainbow’s Kariuki Tyron maneuvered through the Darajani Gogo defense sealing victory with a lone goal in the 36th minute.
Meanwhile, at the Wolves Den grounds in Olooloitikosh, newly promoted Dimba Patriots displayed unwavering determination but fell short in a 2-3 loss to Naivas.
Naivas opened the scoring with Vincent Likare’s goal in the 35th minute. Brian Ouru extended Naivas’ lead just before halftime with a goal, making it 2-0.
In the 53rd minute, Vincent Likare secured his brace, stretching Naivas’ lead to 3-0. Dimba Patriots shifted the game’s momentum ten minutes later, with Danis Omondi netting their first goal.
Tindo Joseph added a second for Dimba Patriots in the 72nd minute. Despite their spirited effort, the final whistle confirmed Naivas’ 3-2 victory.
In Machakos, MCF and SS Assad battled to a 2-2 draw, while in Mumias, visitors Kajiado secured a 2-1 win against hosts Vihiga United.
Gusii kicked off the season with a 5-1 victory over Vihiga Bullets, in Awendo.
