AFC Leopards were held to a 1-1 draw by visitors Shabana in their FKF Premier League Round 5 action played today, on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
In the 13th minute, AFC Leopards were granted a penalty, which Brian Yakhama converted to give his team the lead. The early advantage looked promising for the Leopards.
However, Shabana quickly responded, with Peter Ogechi finding the back of the net just eight minutes later, leveling the score and putting Shabana back in contention. Despite fervent efforts from both sides, the match concluded with a 1-1 scoreline.
Over at Nyayo Stadium, Gor Mahia and KCB engaged in a closely contested battle, ultimately concluding with a 1-1 draw. Apollo Otieno’s strike in the 17th minute gave the Bankers an early lead, allowing them to enter halftime with a slight advantage.
However, the game took a twist in the dying moments as Rogers Mugisha scored the equalizer for Gor Mahia, leveling the score at 1-1 just three minutes before full-time.
Meanwhile, at Ruaraka, FC Talanta and Tusker played out a goalless draw. In Mombasa, Kakamega Homeboyz secured a 1-0 victory over Bandari.
