Shabana FC secured their first victory in the FKF Premier League, winning 1-0 against Tusker FC in round 6 on Friday, October 6, 2023.

The match took place at Kasarani Stadium, with Shabana getting the better of the exchanges in the first half. They came close to breaking the deadlock in the 30th minute with a long-range strike, but Tusker’s goalkeeper, Brian Bwire, pulled out a great save, keeping his team in the match. Despite continued threats from Shabana, the first half ended goalless.

Shabana maintained their strong start in the second half, once again forcing a point-blank save from Bwire. Their persistence finally paid off when Aloro delivered a free-kick that Nyabuto slotted into the back of the net, granting the visitors a 70th-minute lead. The match finally ended in favor of the newcomers.

In other matches, Talanta battled hard to secure a draw at Bukhungu Stadium. Kevin Amwayi created the opening goal for the hosts in the 15th minute, with Davis Kasirye extending their lead in the 30th minute. However, Talanta managed to level the score before halftime, with an Eric Ombija brace before halftime.

The second half witnessed Kakamega Homeboyz reclaiming the lead, thanks to Amwayi’s assist, which set up Moses Shummah’s 57th-minute goal. Talanta once again found an equalizer, this time from the penalty spot, as Ombija converted, securing his hattrick.

League leaders, Posta Rangers, continued their good form with their fifth win of the season against Nzoia Sugar FC. Kennedy Odhiambo’s strike in the 71st minute provided the mailmen with the lead, and Brian Otieno capitalized on a defensive error, scoring from close range.

Posta Rangers remain top of the league standings with 16 points and an unbeaten run in 6 matches.
