Kajiado FC beat Rainbow 2-0 in their FKFNSL round 8 action against Rainbow on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Ildamat stadium, Kajiado.

Kajiado took an early lead with Abubakar Wangai slotting into an empty net. However, rainbow had 2 good scoring chances available to them within the first half but were kept out by Kajiado FC’s keeper Daniel Wamalwa. Kajiado still searched for a second and their efforts rewarded just before the half time break. James Mutuku extended their lead. The half ended with Kajiado with a 2-0 advantage.

Second half witnessed Rainbow threaten early on, Mustapha Dulmant saw his shot on goal hit the post. All efforts to try and claw back the deficit were futile as the match ended 2-0 in favor of the hosts.

Meanwhile in Vihiga, Mulembe secured a 2-1 win over Mara Sugar. The first half ended 1-1. Mara Sugar took an early lead in the 27th minute when Brian Ochieng found Okoth Rueben who put it past the keeper. In the 39th minute the home side were awarded a penalty, Eric Opiyo stepped up and sent it home.

Mulembe’s winning goal came from Godrick Kaduma at the start of second half.

Mathare United continues its impressive form following a win against Gusii FC at Cardinal Otunga.

Gusii opened the scoring in the 29th minute through a Onsongo Kevin strike ensuring Gusii took a lead into the break.

Second half witnessed a comeback from Mathare with two quick goals in the 52nd and 59th minute. Elle Asieche brought them on level terms while Tonny Odhiambo secured the winner.

In other results, Naivas and Darajani Gogo played to a 0-0 draw. Mombasa Elite and Mombasa Stars also ended in a barren draw.

Mathare United take the lead in the FKF NSL standings after Mara Sugar loss to Mulembe. Round 8 continues tomorrow Sunday, November 5, 2023.
